List of materials

• 6mm (J) crochet hook,
• Worsted Weight yarn (#4 / Medium) – 100m/50g. One skein for newborn to teen size, two skeins for larger headbands.

Construction

The Alpine Twist Ear Warmer Headband is worked in rows from the bottom up, forming a rectangular shape. The foundation row is made long enough to stretch comfortably around the head. Then, rows are worked repeatedly until reaching the desired width. Finally, the headband is seamed together to create the twist.

Gauge

Alpine stitch: 7 sts and 8 rows equal to 2” with a 6mm hook (J).

4. Using a tapestry needle, seam all four layers together, making sure to go through every layer with a back-and-forth motion. Weave in the ends and trim any excess yarn.
