If you love quick and easy amigurumi projects, this crochet capybara snuggler free pattern is such a fun one to make. I designed this amigurumi using soft chenille yarn, so it works up fast and feels incredibly cuddly right from the start.

This little capybara snuggler is worked in simple steps and doesn’t require any sewing, which makes it perfect if you want a relaxing project you can finish in one sitting. It’s also a lovely option for baby gifts or comfort toys, especially with its soft texture and gentle shape. The finished size is about 31 cm (around 12 inches), making it just right for little hands to hold and snuggle.

Gauge

You don’t need to worry too much about the gauge for this pattern. Just choose a hook that works well with your yarn. I always like to use a slightly smaller hook than the yarn label suggests—this helps keep the stitches nice and tight, so the stuffing doesn’t poke through. If your stitches look a bit loose, try going down a hook size.

But if you’d like to check the gauge I got with my yarn, here it is:
Using super bulky chenille yarn and a 6 mm hook, 4 rounds (ending with 24 stitches) measure about 2.5″ (5 cm) across.
