List of Materials:
- 6mm crochet hook,
- Chenille yarn of your preference. I used Hobbii Baby Snuggle, colors red, light pink and beige for the cupcake. Blue, orange, and yellow for the sprinkles.
- Sewing needle,
- Stuffing material hypoallergenic polyester,
- Scissors
Finish size:
15 cm (6 inches) of the head and 18cm (7 inches) from the cherry to the bottom.


Gauge
You don’t need to worry too much about the gauge for this pattern. Just choose a hook that works well with your yarn. I always like to use a slightly smaller hook than the yarn label suggests—this helps keep the stitches nice and tight, so the stuffing doesn’t poke through. If your stitches look a bit loose, try going down a hook size.
But if you’d like to check the gauge I got with my yarn, here it is:
Using super bulky chenille yarn and a 6 mm hook, 4 rounds (ending with 24 stitches) measure about 2.5″ (5 cm) across.

With red yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd 12sc
4 rnd 6dec Total 6sts
Cupcake Top
- Change to pink yarn and fasten off the red,
- Add a little bit of stuffing material to the cherry before continuing,
5 rnd FL 6inc Total 12sts
6 rnd 12inc Total 24sts
7 rnd (1sc, 1inc) repeat 12 times Total 36sts
8 to 12 rnd 36sc



- For the next round, you will work only in the front loop of the stitch.
13 rnd FL(sk1, 7dc in the same st, chain 1, 1sl) repeat 12 times
- Change to dark beige yarn
Cupcake Bottom
- For the next round, you will work in the remaining back loop of round 12.
14 rnd 36BLsc



15 and 16 rnd 36sc
17 rnd (4sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 30sts
18 and 19 rnd 30sc
- For the next round, you will work in the back loop only of the stitch.
20 rnd BL (3sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
- From here on, go back to crocheting on both loops normally.
