List of Materials:
- 6mm crochet hook,
- Chenille yarn of your preference. I used Hobbii Baby Snuggle, colors gray and black. A little bit of light pink for the nose.
- Sewing needle,
- Stuffing material hypoallergenic polyester,
- Scissors
Finish size
7 cm (2.6 inches) high, and 12cm (5 inches) with the tail up.

Gauge
You don’t need to worry too much about the gauge for this pattern. Just choose a hook that works well with your yarn. I always like to use a slightly smaller hook than the yarn label suggests—this helps keep the stitches nice and tight, so the stuffing doesn’t poke through. If your stitches look a bit loose, try going down a hook size.
But if you’d like to check the gauge I got with my yarn, here it is:
Using super bulky chenille yarn and a 6 mm hook, 4 rounds (ending with 24 stitches) measure about 2.5″ (5 cm) across.

Cat Pattern Instructions
Body
With gray yarn start,
1 rnd 6sc in a magic ring
2 rnd 6inc Total 12sts
3 rnd (1sc, 1in) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
4 rnd (2sc, 1in) repeat 6 times Total 24sts
- For the next round, we will work with gray and black.
5 rnd [gray] chain 2, skip 2 st, 2sc, [black] 5sc, [gray] 8sc, [black] 5sc, [gray] 2sc
6 rnd 2sc on the chains, 22sc
- You will now be left with a hole of 4 stitches total (two on each side).
- Stop crocheting the body for now. Don’t cut the yarn, you will come back here later. Add a stitch marker to prevent it from unraveling.
- We will now pause to crochet the tail.
- Introduce the black yarn in one of the remaining stitches and start crocheting.
- Make 8 rounds of 4sc, alternating between black and gray to create the stripes.
- Cut both yarns and fasten off, leaving a tail from each color. We will use it later.
- Now, pick up the stitch from the body where you stopped and continue

7 rnd 3sc gray, 6sc black, 6sc gray, 6sc black, 3sc black
8 rnd 24sc
- Cut the black yarn and fasten off.
- Now you will crochet the paws using the bobble stitch.
- When working the bobble stitch, grab only the front loop of the stitch. For the single crochet, grab both loops normally.
9 rnd 3sc, (1FLbo, 5sc) repeat 3 times, 1bo, 2sc
10 rnd (2sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 18sts
11 rnd (1sc, 1dec) repeat 6 times Total 12sts
Cut the yarn and fasten it off.

Ears
Introduce the orange yarn in one stitch of the 3rd round of the head.
- Chain 3. Skip the first chain, make 1sc and 1hdc. Cut the yarn and fasten off by bringing the yarn inside the second round of the head.
Repeat on the other side of the head.

Tail Curve
To make the cat tail curve, introduce the leftover yarn into a tapestry needle.
Bring the yarn from the top to one stitch in the center of the tail (around round 4), then bring it back inside the tail and out through the top of the body.
Gently pull the leftover yarn to curve the tail slightly. Repeat the process with both colors.
Fasten off the yarn by tying it together the gray and black leftover yarn.

Embroidering the face
- With black thread, embroider the eyes in round 5, leaving 3 stitches between them.
- With a bit of light pink plush yarn, embroider the nose using 1 stitch in length.
- With a bit of black plush yarn, embroider three lines, similar to the letter M, on top of the cats head.

FAQ – Little Chonkers Crochet Cats
Yes! You’re welcome to sell the finished items you create with this pattern, just please don’t redistribute the pattern itself.
You can, but keep in mind that using thinner yarn or a smaller hook will result in smaller, tighter cats. It may also change the plush, chubby look of the Little Chonkers, so adjust carefully for best results.
These no-sew cats are designed to be quick and fun! Most crafters can finish one in under an hour, making them perfect for a fast, satisfying project.
